I've been in the fencing business for the past 20 years. I started working for farmers in Florida, fencing cow pastures and installing field fences to keep hogs away from the fields. I enjoy fencing, and there's plenty of horse owners in Central Florida and along the Gulf Coast, so I decided to expand into the residential market; and  along came fencing for horses. 

Funny thing, I'd never owned horses and didn't know much about them. Unaware then, I was headed for a crash-course in horse fencing, that's for sure! Sadly, also during this time, I started seeing all sorts of horse injuries caused by poor fencing materials and techniques. 

One day a young lady called and wanted a horse fence installed. She said the materials were purchased and ready, and called it Cameo Fencing. Until that conversation, I had never heard of it before, but I’ve always  enjoyed a challenge. One of my favorite quotes is from Secretariat, "He laughs at fear, afraid of nothing, He does not shy away from the sword." With that in mind, I assured her that we could install it. After that first installation of Cameo Fence, I fell in love with the product. 

The crew had the fence up in record time; the ease of installation was incredible! Fast-forward five years, my family and I moved to the North Georgia Mountains and started another fencing company. This time a gentleman called needing a 25-acre pasture fenced for his horses - and also insisted on using Cameo Fencing! I think he was a bit surprised when I told him I was very familiar with it. We continued installing Cameo every time we had the opportunity. Soon, I got the phone call that changed my life; an unanticipated conversation with the founder of Cameo Fencing. The next day, I traveled to Virginia, had lunch with the founder, and made a deal to purchase her company. I was honored that she entrusted me to direct the Cameo legacy.
